A Guide to Building Effective Store Displays

Store displays are meant to catch the eyes of your customers

Store displays are meant to catch the eyes of your customers and potential customers. They are there to draw in your customers and tell them about the deals and the products you have for sale.

If you have found that your store displays aren’t working effectively, there are things that you can do to help your displays be more effective. Below are some things you might want to do to make your store displays more effective.

  • Change the Balance – Make your display asymmetrical instead of symmetrical. Changing the display’s balance might just make a difference.
  • Change Object Sizes – Put your largest item on your display first.
  • Color – The color will help with setting the feelings and the mood.
  • Focal Point- This is where the background, signage and products come together
  • Lighting – Your lighting should accent your focal point if it’s possible
  • Signage – Your signage can be the thing that makes or breaks your display.
  • Simplicity – If your display is too much, you might want to make it simpler. Less is often more, so you want to know when you should stop. Don’t add a lot of items.

Once you have finished your display, add the right signage. Take pictures of your display and then keep records of the sales during your display’s existence. This information should be saved in a folder so that you can refer back to it. When you document the success or failures of your store displays, you can recreate the displays or change them as needed.
