7 Signs Your Roofing Company Should Do an Inspection

Roofing company

When was the last time you had a roofing company put a new roof on your home? If it’s been a while, you may need to have one done soon. Your roof keeps you and your family safe, and it keeps everything in your home safe as well.

Go out and look at your roof. If you see any of these signs below, chances are you should call your roofing company to come out and do an assessment because it may be time for a new one.

1. Mossy, damaged, curled, lost, or missing shingles
2. Discoloration or damage around skylights, chimneys or vents
3. Areas are sagging
4. You can see water damage or leaks
5. Asphalt shingle flakes, also known as grit, inside your gutters
6. The roof is more than 20 years of age
7. Your neighbors are having new roofs put on

Now that you know what signs to look for, you may want to change your roofing material when it’s replaced. So here are some things to consider:

● Aesthetics
● Budget
● Climate
● Design & slope of the roof
● Durability and Warranties

Keep in mind that although a roof can last 20 to 30 years, it also can depend on the type of climate, the weather, and many other factors. If you have had some rough winters or high winds, you may have to replace it sooner than you expect.

If you have noticed any of the above signs, you want to call your roofing company and at least have them come out and look at it. The last thing that you want is to have your roof collapse and cause a lot of damage to your home’s interior.
