There are many parts of pool maintenance, so you may be wondering how to keep up on all of them. Not everything is on the same timeline, so it can be difficult to keep track of all of the pool maintenance duties you need to keep track of. Here is a short list of some of the maintenance items you need to do, and how often to do them.
- Daily: Daily tasks include checking the pH and using chemicals to adjust accordingly. Some daily pool maintenance tasks depend on usage of the pool and weather conditions. When it becomes peak times and your pool is used daily, you should try to do things like removing leaves and debris from skimmers if nearby trees are particularly active.
- Weekly: Weekly things should include cleaning, emptying, and skimming the skimmers and filters to make sure they are clean. Vacuuming should be done weekly, if it is not done daily. The pool walls should also be brushed down, and debris fished out of the pool. When it is not peak pool times you can get away with testing pH and using chemicals every week.
- Every Couple of Months: Every couple of months you should treat your filters with chemicals to deep clean them, rather than just wash them out.
This can be a lot of overwhelming work for many, but it does not have to be so difficult with a good pool maintenance schedule. Of course, an excellent alternative is to hire a professional pool maintenance company to keep up with your pool for you.
