If you are planning to use a piece of hydraulic equipment in your business, one of the things that you have to do is find a good hydraulic equipment supplier. But once you have found your supplier, there are a few things that your supplier will need to know in order to get the right equipment for you. Here are three things that your hydraulic equipment supplier will need to know about so that you have the right equipment for your needs.
Minimum/Maximum Ambient Temperature
They need this for determining the right type of hydraulic fluid, viscosity index, and viscosity grade. This is also going to determine whether it’s necessary to heat the tank at the minimum temperature. It also will influence the necessary cooling capacity.
Average Level of Humidity
In locations with high average humidity, such as marine and tropical environments, desiccant tank breathers have to be used. Polymeric filters also might be needed so that the water content is no greater than the saturation level of the oil.
Special Conditions
Sometimes there are other considerations that you should tell them about. These are things like:
- compliance with local/municipal, state, federal, and international codes or standards
- fire risk with the presence of an ignition source
- hazardous location
- environmentally sensitive (great risk of a pollution spill)
These are three of the things that a hydraulic equipment supplier will need to know so that they can get the right hydraulic equipment to you. When you contact the supplier, make sure that you answer all of their questions.
