Sometimes you need an expert to create a metal item for you. If you need to have custom fabrication done of a metal piece, one of the things that you should know is that there are four stages that your item will go through. Below are the four stages that a custom fabrication item will go through and what is involved in each stage.
- Designing – This is when you go to a metal or steel fabricator and let them know what you want as the person draws it. Sometimes this will be done with CAD software rather than hand drawing them.
- Forming – A piece that is deep-drawn into your desired product’s shape. This is done with a lot of attention since any kind of mistake can mean that the product is low quality and doesn’t meet your standards.
- Assembly – This is where the parts of the item are brought together and then assembled so that the finished product is formed to the requirements of the customer.
- Finishing – This involves inspecting the product for imperfections and defects. It’s checked for quality and to make certain that quality standards are met. If it is used outside, it’s a good idea to have it painted with a rust coat so that corrosion is prevented.
These are the four stages that custom fabrication goes through when it comes to items that you have done. These stages ensure that your product is of the highest quality and that it’s made to your specifications. The fabricator wants to make sure that you are happy!
