- Rustling: You will be able to faintly hear ants traveling around your home in your walls. - Ant Trails: Red and black ants trailing around your yard may be a sign that they are foraging in and out of your home. Make sure to be aware of what carpenter ants look like so you can tell whether they are the black and red patterned ones, or other ants living nearby.
- Flying Ants: Seeing red and black ants crawling through crevices in your home is a tell-tale sign, but if they sometimes have wings then they are most likely carpenter ants.
