Going to the spa should be a relaxing experience. After all, you’re there to get away from the constant demands of your kids, work, school, and everything else you have going on. But it can be hard to let real life creep in and get in the way of your time at the spa if you don’t prepare for your spa experience.
To get the most from your next spa experience, we recommend the following:
• Clear your schedule—Don’t try and rush off to something right after your visit to the spa. Plan on making a morning of your appointment, no matter how long it takes. This way, you don’t have to worry about getting to another meeting or appointment on time.
• Stay present—Before you go in, think about what’s been on your mind and worrying you. Write these worries down if you need to and commit to leaving them in the car. Commit to focusing on yourself and yourself only during your spa experience.
• Bring something you enjoy—If you have a book you’re reading, bring it with you. Or, if you have a show you’re always trying to binge watch, download a few episodes for periods of down time. If you’d prefer just to relax and close your eyes, bring your headphones and some music.
• Wear something comfortable—Nothing can ruin your spa experience faster than clothes that pull, itch, or are too tight. Wear something comfortable for your next trip to the spa, like a favorite pair of sweatpants and a t-shirt.
