When your water heater is making some strange noises, there’s a good chance that it’s time to let it go. As time goes by, sediment starts building up at the tank’s bottom. When you heat up water, that sediment hardens. That’s why people whose water heater needs replacing hears rumbling or banging.
3. It’s Giving You Rusty Water
The third sign that your water heater needs replacing is that the water is rusty when you turn on the tap. Water and metal create corrosion. Now, if it starts out early in the heater’s life, a new rod can be added. But if your heater’s older, it likely needs replacing.
