Find Out Which Siding Material is Right for You

Finding out which siding is right for your home can be difficult

Finding out which siding is right for your home can be difficult. There are so many options that it can be hard to imagine what is the best option for your specific home and design preference. Here is a short pro and con list of various materials to help you decide what siding material will work best on your home.

Brick

Pros: Brick is an incredibly durable material and will not be affected by weathering as much as other materials. It also has natural insulating properties, making it a great choice for many homes.

Cons: It is also incredibly expensive. The cost of the brick itself is high, and the installation can be tricky as well. To have a high-quality material you have to pay high quality prices.

Vinyl

Pros: This can be the most flexible material. It comes in many different colors, textures and prices, so it can work no matter your circumstances.

Cons: With the pro of vinyl being cheaper in price it is also a little cheaper in quality. It does not hold up to the elements quite as well as a brick siding.

Fiber-Cement

Pros: Fiber-cement combines the benefits of brick siding, but it also has a cellulose exterior making it more like a wood siding. This means it looks natural like wood but is durable like cement.

Cons: Underneath the cellulose layers is a bunch of cement, which is incredibly heavy. While the material itself is not the most expensive, installation costs can be high due to the difficulty involved in installing fiber-cement siding correctly.

Finding out what material is right for your home begins with finding out what your home needs. Compare the materials based on cost and weather durability, and from there you can narrow down what kind of style you are looking for in the siding of your home.
